First Aid and Safety Measures at home - Domestic Workers



On 9th July 2017 a session on  first Aid and safety measures at home was conducted  for the domestic workers of dongri .  The session was organized by the CCO staff of dongri under the guidance of our CSA staff Sr. Martha. The resource person for the  Day was Mr. Rohidas Bhoir. The talk was very interactive and informative, it  enabled the domestic workers to enhance their skills, training  them to be professionals in their field of work. This session also encourages the domestic workers to increase their income generation capacity as it helps them to upgrade their skills and knowledge, making them  confident and professional domestic worker.

Unity and group bond - SHG



On 26th June 2017, a TOT session on unity and group bond was conducted for the  SHG members at pali.. Sr. Nisha was the resource person for the session. She gave an orientation on self help group and the benefits of sustaining a SHG. She then went on to demonstrate the concept of unity and group bond .  where she asked each person to break on stick, where they easily broke the stick to pieces. Then she asked them to take five sticks each and break it, this time they could not break the stick easily, she concluded saying that when we are united we can easily solve our issues and no one can brake the group bond or unity easily also our SHG need to stick together when making any decision. The session gave away a very strong message and the woman understood that whatever may be the circumstance the group should be united and solve any issue or social problems




Dialogue Program - Pali



On  28th June 2017 an international religious dialogue  program was organized at pali. The topic for the session was Unity is Strength, 125 people  from different communities were present for the session.  The resource person for the session was Ms. Koyal -member of Bombay Catholic Sabha Trust. The session began with lighting of the lamb after which sr nisha welcomed and introduced the resource person. Ms Koyal  began her session by saying the slogans Ekta main shakti hain, hum sab ek hai etc. she mentioned saying we have heard these slogans but have we ever taken these slogans seriously.  Ms.Koyal spoke on the advantages and disadvantages of disunity. She explained the  concept of unity  through stories. After the session Sr. Nisha encouraged the participants to give their views on communal harmony and from  their Reponses we could gather  that all the participants believed that communal harmony is a must and we all should be united. Many participants mentioned saying that we need to be together and united in all circumstances. The session  ended with a cultural program  followed with the song hum honge kamiyab

Parents and Bal Sansad group - Interactive session

On 29th June 2017 an interaction session was held for the parents and the balsansad children of pali. Ms Rasika and Sr Nisha were the resource people for the day.  The parents and children were divided into two separate groups. The parents group was given a question “What are the expectations from children to Parents?.And the children were given another question ‘What are the expectations from parents to children’?. Each group were given 15 minutes time to share their points. The children group were asked to read out their point first and then the parents group was asked to read out their points.
Points read by the children:
The parent should give us some more  time
They should encourage to participate in different activities
The parent should not beat them and if anything to make them understand it all with love
Teach us good manners
After which the representative from the parents group read out the point which were as follow:
To be faithful to their studies and fulfill their responsibilities
To be respectful and obedient toward elders
To behave respectfully towards us and to choose their friends wisely
Not to use bad words and not to encourage any fights
The children heard the parents expectation and concern, they promised to obey their parents and more so understood what the parents expect from them and vice versa. After a week of the session a follow up visit was organized by the cc members. The CC members went to visit the house of the parents and children who had attended the session, the parents seemed very happy as the child now listens to them and their behavior has improved. The children also observed that the parents are more understanding  and considerate now. Both the parents and the  children really liked the session, as both became aware of the feelings of each other. The parents suggested that these sessions should be conducted  every quarterly to strengthen their bond
