Bal Sansad Children Openly Share Expectations with Parents in Gorai 23-3-2017

The Bal Sansad Children in Gorai engaged in a fruitful dialogue and interaction with the parents on the 23rd of March, 2017 in the Gorai Church Hall. The 32 enthusiastic children had a lot questions and it all began with each of them sharing their expectations.

The parents got to understand the functioning of the Bal Sansad and their activities and they then went on to share how they expected a lot from their children. They earnestly wanted their children to study well as they had made a lot of sacrifices in their life for them. They wanted their children to respect and behave well with them.

The children in their turn  appreciated their parents for all that they did in terms of providing for them, “our parents give us everything, but sometimes they don’t have time for us”. This was one statement that the children shared with great courage. They further shared that they needed to grow in a loving environment at home and would like to be encourage in their studies.

Sr. Christle who facilitated the interaction led both the parents and the children to understand and respect each other in terms of their rights. From the point of view of the children, the child rights needed to be upheld. And on the other hand, the parents too were happy to understand their role and responsibility. They were really happy to understand the change that the balsansad meetings were bringing into the life of the children, as they gained in knowledge, information and a right attitude towards life.
