Women's Day Celebrations at Gorai CCO - 7th March, 2016

Topic:- Women Atrocities every day’s news but not in my village?

Resource person :- Senior Inspector Mr. Shivaji Jamdade, & His assistance Miss Pramila Kamble

Report :- The program began with prayer dance performed by the women. The dignitaries of the evening i.e. the chief guest, speakers, president, CSA co-ordinator-Mr. Dayanand & Mrs. Sheetal, Miss. Vijaya the sister of the local Corporator was welcomed introduced and honored with a bouquet of flowers. 

The introduction of Women’s day was given by Mrs. Asha Ferreira the Core committee member. Then a role play was performed on the topic and depicted in it the various ways in which women are harassed today. This was followed by a song and a dance.


The resource person spoke on how women suffer through in the family and society and also at the work place.  He encourage the women saying “one should not keep quite but be able to defend oneself through self- defense techniques. Also one must help each other & have unity to prevent others from atrocities. 

The president also gave wishes on the occasion of women’s day. The program ended with snacks, distribution of gifts and a note of thanks.

Core Committee Training at Uttan CCO 7-3-16

The Core Committee was led to a reflective analysis along with Sheetal and Dayanand the Joint Coordinators of Dharavi Island on the 7th March, 2016 at the Uttan CCO. Seven out of twelve Core Committee members were present. They made plans on concrete follow up on the various programs planned and the action they needed to undertake to follow up on the same.

Farmer's Discussion at Palkhadi, Dongri CCO 1-3-16

 The Farmers of Palkhadi Zone from Dongri CCO met together in the Church Extension on the 1st March, 2016. Mr. Dayanand and Ms. Sheetal led the farmers to reflect on their current situation and how they need to address the problems faced by them. 

They discussed the issue of increased salinity of their land and how the tanker water had decreased the water availability for their agricultural needs. 

It was proposed to draw out a concrete action on how to resolve this issue and contact Government agencies in order to learn and adopt best practices. 

Women & Kishoris explore possible IGPs, Uttan 1-3-16

Session on Income Generation Programs at Uttan

On 01/ 03/ 16 Uttan CCO organized a combined session for Kishoris and Women on Income generation programs. Mr. Vency Dabre was the resource person. There were total 42 participants. 

The session began with the group activity. The resource person divided them into two groups and gave them the questions for discussion.  

He spoke on different types of business related to food, clothes and house hold items. He also showed them the documentary based on the topic.

Resource Person started session with awarness songs ‘Jaggira Sara ra ra.” Then he asked them to sit two in pairs to choose in destination then one will become Driver& other conductor, also after this exercise he asked each pair what were their feeling by doing this, also with this he explain to them Responsibility of leadership .


Then he divided them into 5 groups to do the exercise that with straw the made group name then he stressed how participative Leadership brings unity in the group with this he took another awarness song and winded up the session.
