Diwali Dhamaka - Gorai CCO, 10th November, 2015

Time: 10.ooam to 6.00pm

Venue: Gorai church hall

Total No. 150 children


The Diwali Dhamaka program started with a short prayer conducted by Sr. Christel. There after Fr. Sandeep introduced the various programs for the day and he gave an explanation on Diwali Festival. He said, "it’s a feast of Light & how we should celebrate the Diwali". 

Thereafter an ice breaker game was played. He made eight groups. Fr. Sandeep then conducted simulation games. After this session Sr. Christel through a power point presentation explained to the children about Children who work and are involved in Labor. She shared about Street children’s life style. She emphasized the Health & Hazards which is the cost paid by the child workers especially in the Zari Industries, Carpet industries, Glass factories & the making of carpets for functions. 

After this session Fr. Sandeep organized a beautiful Magic show on various aspects. Before lunch he took all the children into the church and asked them to pray. He then blessed the food & requested children to share the food which each other. 

After lunch the CCO Staff - Ms. Nasim & Ms. Natal engaged the children in action songs and dances. Various games were conducted through which they learnt  how to manage their time through group activities & team work. 

Thereafter a Documentary film on Health and the ill effects of consuming chewing tobacco i.e. Paan, Gutkha, Tobacco and the various effects of them on one's body. 

Last of all prizes were distributed for those who were winners along with take away gifts shared. With snacks & refreshment children enjoyed the most. 

Then finally the Diwali Dhamaka ended with a short prayer, the children were so happy that they kept asking if they could come the next day too to enjoy the good times they experienced.
