On 12-5-2016 Prerna Seva Kendra,Dongri organised an
exposure visit for Bal Sansad children to Uttan Sagari Police Station, Talavali.
There were a total of 40 children who participated. Ms Manisha & Ms Rasika led the visit. The resource person from the police station were Mr Abijit Thakur, Mr Mishra - Head Constable of Sagari Police Station along with Mr Mahale, Mr Palve, and Ms Chille.
The Officers shared the information on different kinds of weapons that they used during emergency situations like pistols, AK- 54, wireless mobile phone, riffles. They also explained the duties & responsibilities of police officers.
The functions of F.I.R application, the No. 100 Helpline and its functioning was explained in detail. The children interacted with the police and asked many questions like, how they got the inspiration to join the Police Force?. How they manage their busy routine?, Qualification required for police course? Etc. The responded stating that the basic requirement for education was just passing the 12th Std examination along with a good fitness status and other criteria.
Highlight the fact that the Police is a public servant, they shared on how their main work was to maintain and protect the law. They take an oath to protect the well- being of the people. Having been inspired by their sharing, one of the children spontaneously shared that he was interest to become an IPS officer.
It was a good experience and an informative visit to the police station. The children shared that through this visit their fears about the police has been reduced. A vote of thanks was given by a young Bal Sansad girl Ms Rachael Gracious from Dongri.
