Good Governance Session - Uttan






Session on Good Governance in Uttan (Patan and Mothagoan)

On 6th May 2017 CSA conducted a session on Good Governance. Sr. Martha, the resource person explained the topic in simple and easy ways. She explained the definition of good governance and gave a brief introduction of it. 45 children attended the session that were held at different venue’s (patan and Mothagoan). Then she spoke on 6 characteristics of good governance which as follows:
Responsibility, Responsive, Transparency, Involvement, No to corruption, yes to human rights

She explained these Characteristic through group activities, games and short documentaries. It helped children to understand the topic. The session also helps the children to practically apply the same in their day to day life

Unity is strength - Awareness rally with Balsansad children at Pali

On 16th May 2017 Sahajeevan Samaj Kendra, Pali organised the rally. Rally had began from Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Pali compound.  It has processed from ward 9, 8,5,4,3 & 7. The creative posters made by Balsansad children on unity. Children raised the slogan on ‘‘we all are together”, “Hum Sab Ek Hai”. After the rally  Ms Carol Munis & Ms Anita Dinis gave talk on the importance of Unity.  The aspect of unity is highlighted. If we come together then nobody can destroyed us. The unity brings power & confidence in people’s life. The children has given the feedback that they liked to participated  in the rally because  there is lack of unity in Pali village and they liked to participate & creates awareness among the local villagers.

The rally ends up with vote of thanks by Ms. Rasika Bhandari.

Celebrating children, celebrating summer - Manori



Summer camp celebration with Balsansad children -  Manori
Manori conducted a two day summer camp on the 3rd and 4th May 2017  under the guidance of our CSA staff Sr. Martha along with our partner organization  for the children of Manori from 9:30am to 4:30pm at the  Manori church hall. Total of 65 children were part of the summer camp on both days. On day 1  Resource Person: Ms Snehal and Ms Survana and on Day 2 Ms Venisa , Ms Sujita and Ms Rasika  were our resource people

 On day 1 the resource person spoke  on the values of Honesty, Forgiveness, Acceptance etc and the importance of these values in the lives of the kids. On day 2 the resource person had explained the role & responsibilities of social institution like Family, Financial, Educational, Religious etc. and the importance of these institution in the  their overall development 
Apart from value education  there were action songs, group games, and best out waste session , this session enabled the children to use their own creativity which was the Highlight  of  the camp








Balsansad - Session on team work








United we stand , Divided we fall  is one of the famous quotes that describes the importance of team work. A lot of children don’t really know what team works is they are missing out on the concept of teamwork.CSA took this initiative on 9th March 2017  to share the understanding of this concept to the children  under the guidance of Ms. Carol Munis and  our CSA Staff Ms. Rasika Bhandari. The resource person for the day was Mr Aaron Pereira. 38 children from our balsansad at Pali were a part of this session falling under the age group 11 – 15 yrs . Our resource person explained the concept to the children through  videos and group activates. He spoke on the importance and advantages of team work . He also showed many inspirational videos and played  games on team work.  The session  ended with Q&A
This session enabled the children to understand the concept of team work which will help them to be a  motivated and positive individual  when working in a team at home, school projects, college projects and also  when they start to work in corporate’s. Because teamwork builds trust and trust builds speed,  and this in turn gives quality results





  
           









  

summer camp for Balsansad Children, Pali





In the season of summer camps Pali conducted a camp for the Balsansad children  on 17th to 19th April 2017 at the church hall Pali :4:00 pm to 7:00pm. .  
The objective for the camp was to have a fusion of enjoyment , personality + self esteem development  along with value education.
Day 1: 60 Children
Topic “Personality Development
Resource Person: fr Sandeep borges
Fr. Sandeep started his session with interactive games to break the ice.  He made a strong point to  the kids  ‘it is good to have fun and enjoy life but not at the cost of hurting yourself or any other person’ . He broke them into groups and made them understand the concept thru more activates.  He enhanced the personality of the kids with his motivation.


Day 2 - 91 children were participated. 
Topic “Living a Happy & Wholesome Life”
Resource  persons: Sr Joana, Ms Carol. 
The camp began thanking the almighty for the gift of life ,gift of  parents, neighbors,teachers and for everyone who we meet on this journey of life.   To make the children understand the concept of the real meaning of Living a Happy & Wholesome Life  the resource person asked the children question like what are the necessary things to make life happy & wholesome. After understanding the mindset of the children the resource person could motivate them to continue thinking they way do and as their  answers  involved love, understanding, listening support, caring, Obedience, Appreciation & Recognition etc.
 Children were divided then into five groups and were asked to share the three things they liked about their parents, teachers, Heroes, family; about themselves  To make the children realize that  in-order to have a successful life we need to relate to one another to communicate and love ourselves & others.

Day 3:  61 participated.

Topic -  Self Confidence
The session began by dividing the children into 4 groups. Each group was given a topic The children were provided with stories to understand and enact the story in a form of a skit. It enabled the children to understand concepts, learn to read and reduce their stage fright.



The summer camp was surely a lot of fun but it was infused with different elements like building their personality, reduce stage fear, team spirit. It enhanced their creativity and broaden their thinking capacity thinking.

Session for Domestic workers on Flowers arrangements at Dongri:      


We believe in providing alternate livelihood as options to the marginalized women and empower them to be financially independent
On 2nd March 2017, CSA organized a training session on flower making for the domestic workers at Dongri. Mrs Angelina Pereira was the resource person. There were 15 participants who attended the training.

The women learnt to make different types of artificial flowers, which could be a side business enabling the women to increase their income generation capacity.
The participants were determined to use these skills and start by selling the flowers at the houses they are currently working in. It will be their first step towards earning an income through an alternative option of livelihood





 FUN and LEARN 3days Summer camp in Dongri

Had  3 days summer camp from 3rd May to 5th May in dongri. Everyday the number of children was increasing from 43 to 75. There was lots of fun and leanings. Three days were well planned with lots of action songs group activities, games and sessions on different topic. 

 The first day was based on Health clinic issue. Children presented the real situation of lacking this facility. There was a good skit presentation by the children.

 

The second day we had Fr. Sandeep Borges with us as resource person who spoke on Good Governance. He made it more simple and easy through group activities and short documentaries based on the topic.


The third day we had Mr. Dayanad Patil from CSA who spoke on Social structure. It was interesting to know the structure of the system in which we live. 

In these 3 days of camp children learn a lot and were happy.
