Summer Camp for Chowk CCO BalSansad Children 27th & 28th May 2016

Sahayog Samaz Kendra,  Chowk CCO had organised two days Summer camp for the Balsansad Children on the 27th and 28th May 2016. 

Altogether  there were 81 children present. Fr. Prashant and Bro. Kristi were the Resource persons. The children were guided and motivated to actively participate in the group through the games,skits and plays.


The children were also given inputs on leadership, and on how to take responsibilities and how to become a good and an effective leader in the group and to lead the group. 

The children also discussed on what are the good qualities one need to become leader.


The resource persons used easy methodologies in order to communicate so that children may understand in an easy manner.

Dongri Bal Sansad Exposure to Post Office - 27-5-16

On the 27-5-2016 Prerna Seva Kendra, Dongri CCO organized the Bal Sansad children exposure visit to the Post office, at Bhayander. 

There were 18 children from the Bal Sansad who participated. Mrs.Ramesh Tarlekar, the Post Master was the resource person who took lot of efforts to explain all the services available at the Post Office like regular postal services, speed post and regular saving deposits for account holders. 

He introduced the children to the various Saving Schemes available in Post Office too. He encouraged the children to visit the Post Office and avail of the various services available. 

The children realized how efficient a Government Post Office can be and the number of services available.

Understanding the Hospital System - Dongri CCO 19-5-16

On the 19th of May, 2016 Prerna Seva Kendra,Dongri had organized an Exposure visit for Women to the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi (Tembha) hospital at Bhayander. 

This Hospital is run by the Municipal Corporation of Mira-Bhayander. There were a total of 15 women participated. CSA staff Mr. Dayanand Patil, Ms Rasika Bhandari & CCO staff Ms Manisha Kharjia led the visit. 

Sr Millana Dandasa (Nurse) gave the orientation of the Out Patient's Department (OPD) and the various  facilities being provided under the gynecology, general surgery department and other departments. 

In the hospital they provide treatments at a nominal cost for the needy & poor patients. A good fact about  the hospital which would we  like to share is that at present there were 80 safe normal maternity  done in last 4 months free of cost. They only charged the women only Rs. 50 as Case Paper charges. 

198 is the Ambulance Helpline Number where 24 hrs free of cost facility is available. In cases of emergency there is a team of one Doctor and 1 ward boy along with one driver is available. Women also asked various queries regarding Hernia operation, Heart surgery and many other diseases.

Uttan Women and Bal Sansads Exposure to Post Office - 18-5-16

On the 18th May, Snehajyot Samaj Kendra, Uttan CCO organized an Exposure Visit for 45 Bal Sansad Children and 22 SHG Women to the Post Office at Bhayandar. 

The children and women understood the various services offered by the Post Office. The children for the first time had an insider's view on the process engaged in by the Postmen on sorting and taking on the various tasks of processing letters. 

The women asked various questions on the various savings schemes offered by the Post Office and what was the process involved. Their queries were answered by the Post Master. 
This government office is slowly in the process of reinventing its services in order to be relevant. The general public still needs to  understand its secure saving schemes being offered like the National Saving Schemes and others too.

Manori Bal Sansad Exposure to Shanti Daan Home 17-5-16

On the 17th May, 19 Bal Sansad Children from Savdhaan Samaj Kendra, Manori CCO were taken on an Exposure Visit to 'Shanti Daan' a  home for all types of physically and mentally challenged persons including the old and abandoned, managed by the Mother Theresa Charity Trust at Borivali. 

The children were truly touched having met children who don't have parents and have been abandoned. There were many persons who were mentally or physically challenged. 

The inmates condition made the Bal Sansad children reflect on their own conditions and they felt thankful for all the benefits and opportunities that they have in life.

Summer Camp for Bal Sansad Children at Uttan, 16th to 30th May, 2016

The Bal Sansad children of Snehajyot Samaj Kendra, Uttan CCO have a wonderful way to spend their Summer Holidays. 
They have been called to the church compound everyday from 4.00pm to 7.00pm from Monday 16th May until the 30th May 2016. 


Since the first day there have been 85 children who have started regularly coming. There have been various games and inputs organized for them on various themes. 

The Youth Director - Fr. Bona along Uttan CCO Director - Fr. Francis have played an active role in motivating the children to come and they too are involved in conducting some of the sessions. 

The CCO Staff - Ms. Sanjana and Ms. Valencia have drawn up a plan are taking care to ensure that it is followed. They are also actively monitoring and assisting in the complete process. 

On the 23rd of May, a Drawing Competition was held for the Summer Camp children. The children participated actively and were very creative in their expressions on paper with crayons and water paints.

Bal Sansad Children from Gorai CCO Learn to appreciate the value of Life 13-5-16

Sixty children from the Bal Sansads at Gorai CCO took a different turn on the 13th May 2016 as they visited "Shanti Daan", a Home for the Poor and Destitute' run by the Missionaries of Charity Brothers at Borivali from 8.00am to 12.30pm. 

Taking the route of the ferry across the Gorai Creek they came to the Borivli end and then walked upto Shanti Daan. There they were met by Bro. Oscar mc who met them and showed them the campus of Shanti Daan and the various sections of the Home explaining the schedule and how the various categories of physically, mentally challenged and aged persons were being taken care of by the brothers and staff.. 

Altogether there are 38 physically and mentally challenged inmates along with 162 old aged persons. These are looked after by eleven Brothers and 30 dedicated staff of Shanti Daan on a regular basis. The inmates have been trained how to make candles from wax. The aged inmates make these candles everyday

The Bal Sansad children presented a street children on social and family issues to the inmates along with two group musical dances. The faces of the inmates lit up with joy as they saw the dances and experienced the live energy of the children. The children interacted with the inmates and asked them a lot of questions and spent time with them. 

Then finally one of the children on behalf of the group thanked Bro. Oscar and his dedicated staff for the services rendered and allowing them the opportunity to interact with the inmates and learn so many wonderful things on how to appreciate the good things in life. 











Dongri Bal Sansad Summer Camp - 9th to 13th May, 2016

Theme:  Learning through Fun Games

Organizers: Ms Manisha Kharjia & Ms Rasika Bhandari & Core Committee Members- Mrs Defni Rodriquez , Ms Gloria Nigrel, Mrs Shishil Nunes, Mrs  Cynthia Gracious ,Mrs Jenvi Gharshi.

Resourse person: Sr. Meltina Munes, Sr Anju, Ms Matilnda

On first day all children were gathered at 10.00 am.  The camp begins with prayer led by Ms Manisha Kharjia then after she has explained the rules and regulation of camp.  On first day the children were divided into four groups.  After formation of group the children gave group names, identified two active leaders from each group, prepare group slogan. Ms Manisha & Ms Rasika conducted games of passing the paper.


On second day conduct session on group building which was led by Sr Meltina & Ms Rasika. After the input session the children make presentation on what is group?  What is differnance between individual and group? The children understood that the group is coming all together and work together.  If we unite we get success. After that children make bhelpuri (snacks) for themselves. Ms Manisha conducts the blind fold game.

On third day the four groups had performed issue based skit and reached out the messages.

Water issue: water is important for our life. We should not waste of water.

Save the trees:   we should not cut the tress because it causes pollution.

Relationship between rich and poor:  everyone’s we should treat equally. We not make differentiate between rich and poor.

Value of Parents:  parents are the most valuable gift we received from god. We should give them respect.

On fourth day had exposure visit for 5th to 9th STD children at Sagri Police Station, Talavali

On fifth day Sr Melnita & Sr Anju had take input session on peer pressure?  Give them activities on good & bad habits.

Ms Metilda thought them creativity on from waste material children make mikky mouse, hand bag, show piece items etc.
End of the day gift were distributed for all chidren’s. Vote of thanks was given by Ms Christel Rodriquez.  Program ends with snacks distribution.
